I can’t tell you
all how much I enjoyed seeing you again, sharing stories and
memories, catching up on how and what many of you are doing now,
and just enjoying a great time at all 3 activities we had,
Friday night, Saturday night, and all day Sunday. I hope you had
at least a fraction of the fun I had, and if so, I know you’re
anxious to have another one before too many years pass us by. I
am shooting for 2011, which will be our 35th year
since graduation. I’d be happy to hear from any of you about
what you enjoyed most about this reunion. If you would be
willing to share any personal anecdotes about it, I’d love to
share these on the website so others can read and share in
whatever meant most to you. Send me
email or
write, whichever you wish.
I would also
like to hear any thoughts on what you would like to see included
in our next reunion. This will give some time for whoever helps
in planning it to incorporate suggestions into the framework.
I personally had
a blast at all the activities we shared together, and only wish
we had more time. The Sunday event was especially fun because it
gave us lots of informal time to talk, play, eat, relax, and
laugh together. It was wonderful to have more family members
there, too. Seeing some of your children, siblings, and even a
few parents of classmates was really nice and made our sharing
even richer. By then, we had also all had time to say hello to
almost everyone else, which I did miss about Saturday night. I
had hopes of being able to speak with every one of you there,
and sadly, I did not make it to some of you before the evening
was gone. I share my regrets about that, and I hope I will NOT
miss getting to speak to you at the next one. I sincerely mean
that to every one of you.
You are special
to me and I pray God’s blessings on you. We were placed in each
other’s paths for a season and for a reason, even if we didn’t
know it then or understand it completely now. I am thankful for
whatever impact you had on me because now as I remember each of
you, it is with a glad heart. Any frictions or rough edges that
may have existed between me and any of you in time past must
have been as much my fault as anyone’s, and for me, they are
simply worn away by time and grace. I honestly hope you find
more and more joy and laughter and meaning in life as the years
race onward. Time is much too precious to be wasted on anything
else; the only thing that will endure beyond all time is love,
freely received and freely given. May it shower upon you today.
And may this website give you renewed hope, good feelings and
thoughts, and the ability to be thankful for all the people who
are a part of the intricate engraving that makes you YOU.
Sincerely, Dale Heath
